When Opened-Waffle

IMG_7258-001  When the nose, eyes and smell say the waffle is ready, it is time to use the long handles to open the hinged waffle iron.  Notice the honey-comb pattern on the iron, these patterns were first develop for the function of even cooking of the waffle.

Where do I find the recipes? I have looked all over and have not been able to find them.

The receipt (recipe) that was used for the waffle pictured in my waffle iron is a 1683 Dutch receipt “For each pond (pound) of Wheat-flour take a pint of sweet Milk, a little tin bowl of melted Butter with 3 or 4 Eggs, a spoonful of Yeast well stirred together” Pancakes particularly and waffles were an important component of Dutch foodways. With the simple ingredients of this receipt, it is not surprising to me that you are having difficulty finding one. Most cooks did not need a receipt to make them. Cook from the Heart!
